The Rise of Tech in Retail

The Tech for Retail exhibition showcased a variety of digital tools and technological innovations designed specifically for the retail industry. The exhibition presented an opportunity for retailers to discover new digital solutions that can address a range of challenges, from improving customer experiences to streamlining inventory management and reducing the ecological impact of the industry.

At the second edition of the show, which took place on 28 and 29 November 2022 at the Porte de Versailles, several of the 200 exhibitors clearly indicated their collaboration with the fashion sector.

One of the most notable exhibitors at the show was Chapsvision, which has worked with prominent fashion brands such as LVMH Group, Longchamp, Smcp (Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, Fursac), Louis Pion, Carré Blanc, Zadig & Voltaire, and The Kooples. Chapsvision‘s digital tablet is a powerful tool that enables physical retailers to better understand customer data, such as shopping habits and preferences, and to provide personalized recommendations based on this data. With its advanced features, the Chapsvision tablet can help retailers improve their sales performance and build stronger relationships with customers.

Innovation in the retail industry is not just about understanding the customer, however. Some technological solutions are designed to solve broader problems in the industry, such as inventory management. SoCloz‘s OMS solution is a great example of this. It unifies shop and warehouse inventories, creating new ordering options such as e-booking, click and collect, ship from store, omnichannel returns management, and in-store order taking. The result is better control of orders and an additional 20% turnover, according to SoCloz.

Technological innovations can also address issues related to overproduction and reduce the ecological impact of the retail industry. Accenture, a leading technology and people transformation consultancy, presented cutting-edge innovations in retail digitalization, such as the use of digital twins for prototyping and personalizing items, dematerialization to free up shop space and allow employees to become sales advisors, and meta-verse technologies that allow customers to virtually try on clothes. These innovations could help reduce the ecological impact of the industry by reducing overproduction, while also enhancing the customer experience.

In conclusion, the Tech for Retail exhibition was a great opportunity for retailers to discover new digital solutions that can improve the customer experience, streamline inventory management, and reduce the ecological impact of the industry. With the continued development of new technologies, the retail industry is set to become more efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric than ever before.
