It´s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Christmas is just around the corner, and it is not only the people that change during that time but also the whole city turns into a magical, happy, bright place. The Christmas lights have been switched on and the decorations above the streets and stores were hung up. People rushing to the shops to find the perfect Christmas present for their loved ones and tourists are visiting this beautiful city to feel the magic by themselves.

Of course, visiting Barcelona in December might not bet your first choice, but let me tell you that is so much to see that you may not even know where to start your journey and what is a Must-Have you need to put on your Christmas-in-Barcelona-List.

Here are some inspirations for your visit.

Visit the Christmas markets.

Especially, when you are from Germany, you may have to lower your expectations a little bit. But if you go for it, you will feel the Christmas spirit as well. The most important Christmas markets you should visit to feel the magic for yourself are the Fira de Santa Llúcia, which is set up opposite Barcelona Cathedral.

Fira del Pessebre a Olot.

A very popular tradition in Catalan is the decoration of the nativity. From the 5th to the 8th of December, you can buy in Olot everything for your Christmas crib and on top you can also see the beautiful show of the nativity scene and the Christmas tree.

Lotería de Navidad.

Another very huge tradition in Spain is the Christmas lottery. The Lotería de Navidad is one of the world’s largest competitions of its kind in terms of total prize money. So, grab your money and buy a ticket and who knows, maybe the main prize called “El Gorde is in for you.

Explore La Rambla.

Not only because in the cold months of the year there are not as much tourists as usual on the streets of Barcelona but also because it is one of the most popular streets of Barcelona and worth seeing.

Tip: The side streets and the Mercat de la Boquería are worth seeing.

Discover interesting Art Installations.

You can just walk around and will easily find something artistic. You will find art in many different ways. Some you may like some you may dislike. But let me tell you, there is a variety of artistic, weird, or quirky stuff all around the city. So, keep your eyes open and you will find various interpretations of Christmas Scenes.

Enjoy your Christmas Trip to Barcelona! You won´t regret it.
